The Lord's Chief Cook "in time"
Pastor Lubiano and some of the people from his church in
Iba, Carlito's
birthplace, have come to Davao City to serve in preparing all of the food
for the pastors in attendance at the numerous "Rightly Dividing the
Word of Truth" conferences conducted over the past 15 years. This
particular conference was in October 1998, as Pastor Lubiano takes a
moment to pose for a picture with Pastor Eugene Udell, the pastor of New
Beginnings Church in Little Rock, AR, and Samson Harris, an Evangelist and
member of the Bible Doctrine Church in Little Rock, AR. Pastor Lubiano's
wife was with him this trip and shared with us that he has not been well
physically for several months. She told us his prayer is simply that the
Lord will let him live just one more year so he is able to cook for the
pastors at one more "Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth"
conference. |

Let's visit while we eat.
Pastor Lubiano and Rev. Ric Webb, Associate Pastor at the Bible
Doctrine Church in Little Rock, visiting with the pastors as they break
for lunch during the October 1998 "Rightly Dividing the Word of
Truth" Pastor's Conference, held at the Immanuel Baptist Church in
Davao City. |

Pastor Lubiano's Cooking Team
During the many "Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth"
conferences these folks have prepared a lot of food. All prepared over
open fires. There have been several conference at which we had over 100
people in attendance, and this team cooked three meals and prepared snacks
for the morning and afternoon sessions for everyone for five days. |

The Bible Doctrine
Church of Davao City
June 6th, 1999, the day of dedication and
celebration of the establishment of the Bible Doctrine Church of Davao
City. The day was especially blessed by the presence of two visitors
from the U.S., Dr. James A. Brettell, on the left, and Dr. Robert Buchan,
standing behind Pastor Eser B. Pedres.

"Water Baptism"
Not long after becoming the owner of this Mitsubishi L-200 pickup, I was
given the opportunity to travel to Malaway, south of Malita in Davao del
Sur. This was the second mountain stream we had to cross after running
out of "road." I was informed the road is there, it is just
under water all the time; the depth of which was entirely dependent upon how
recently it had rained. The carpeting inside only got a little wet on
this crossing. |

Visiting Pastor Fede in
1993
Dr. Jim, Beverly (Webb)
Haney, Jean Polter, and Carlito Dadula, sitting in Pastor Fede's living
room, sleeping room, and church, all-in-one, in his house in Lanang.
Evangelism meetings were held each evening in the Lanang area that year to
help Pastor Fede establish a church. That church is still alive
today, but in a different location. The people of the are were
relocated to the hills above Tibungco, so Fede moved his family there in
1998 to continue pastoring that church. |

"Taking aim"
Dr. Jim takes some time to
get down on his hands and knees to play marbles with the kids as we
visited Pastor Fede in the Lanang area in the spring of 1993.
